About

Nordic PGDay was started in 2014 in order to bring the PostgreSQL community in the Nordic region together. The idea was to create a single track conference with a focus on high quality talks in nice environments and with great hallway tracks. Six conferences, going on seven, and while we feel that we have accomplished what we set out to do we will always strive to do better.

The conference is arranged in a major city in the region each year. Since a lot of our attendants are not domestic, we concentrate on the big well-connected cities. The 2021 event in Helsinki will be seventh annual Nordic PGDay, and the second time we visit Finland. We are very much looking forward to meeting you all there for a fun, informative and relaxing day.

We would like to thank PostgreSQL Europe and our past, as well as current, sponsors for supporting not only Nordic PGDay but the Nordic PostgreSQL community in general. We would also like to thank all volunteers who have helped us to make the conferences possible over the years.

Last but not least, we want to extend a very big thank you to our lovely attendants who have helped make this eventseries a success.

Volunteering

Would you like to be a part of the team arranging Nordic PGDay? We are always happy for more people to join us, and are especially delighted to hear from community members who are new to conference organizing. If you've visited an event, you probably have an idea about the types of chores being performed, but just in case below is a non-exhaustive list of work being done:

  • Marketing the event
  • Program committee
  • Registration desk
  • Swag sales
  • Roomhosting
  • Sponsor relations

Volunteering at a conference is a great way to get more involved in the community, and we'd be happy to have you. Please contact us for more information.

Financial Disclosure

Nordic PGDay is financially supported by our generous sponsors and is economically underwritten by PostgreSQL Europe, the European PostgreSQL umbrella organisation for usergroups and advocacy work.
